Dear Campus Community,
The annual downtown Jamaica Queens 5K Walk/Run will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28. The walk/run will start (and end) outside of the York College Performing Arts Center on Guy R. Brewer Boulevard with a 6:45 a.m. check-in and 8 a.m. start (rain or shine). The awards ceremony starts at 10 a.m.
Road Closures: Saturday, September 28, 2024
5:00 a.m. – Guy R. Brewer Blvd. between Liberty and Archer Avenues will be closed to all vehicular traffic, allowing time for Start Line and Finish Line setup.
- Guy R. Brewer's entrance to the parking lot will be closed.
- York College staff, Greater Jamaica Development Corp. staff, student volunteers, and event organizers to enter the parking lot through the 165th Street side entrance.
6:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. - The entire walk/run route will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
- York College staff, students, and faculty to enter the parking lot through the 165th Street side entrance.
Please note the following instructions for parking access:
Please use the 165th Street entrance between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m to enter the parking lot.
- If you are coming from the East, taking Merrick Blvd towards Liberty Ave is recommended.
- If you are coming from the West, it is recommended to take Hillside Ave towards 174th Street and then proceed to Liberty Ave.
Remember that traffic will be heavy, and routes are subject to change.
Please be aware that the NYPD will only allow access to the parking lot if you display a York College ID, either a hard card or a digital ID.
