Dear Faculty,
I am pleased to share with you the following Call for Proposals for use of $150,000 of Foundation Funds from the New York City Football Club.
The College is in receipt of the first $2 million of the $7.5 million total donation. These funds will be allocated to full-time and part-time faculty for a number of projects including:
● Supporting the cafeteria renovations
● Providing van transportation for our Athletics program and the campus
● Creating a new, state of the art fitness Center in the HPE multipurpose room. A new fitness center represents a naming opportunity, as well as the potential for revenue generation (beyond being self-sufficient).
● Establishing a Wellness and Resources hub dedicated to fostering the holistic well-being of every student.
● Securing new equipment for the School of Health and Professional Programs for the purpose of bringing didactic knowledge into practice, thereby making our students better prepared for their clinical internships and/or student teaching experiences.
In addition to the above, we are inviting full-time and part-time faculty to submit proposals for funds to support new initiatives to promote health and wellness and increase college community engagement.
This is a unique opportunity for our community to cultivate a sense of ownership and belonging towards our college around health and wellness. We anticipate that this sense of belonging will impact positively on both student and employee retention. We look forward to hearing your ideas.
