York College is pleased to welcome the following new employees!

CSA Masroor Khan has years of Campus Safety experience hailing from Queens College. He will transition this experience here at York College and provide a safe and secure environment for our faculty, students and employees.

Sonia Gray also has years of experience serving as a Custodial Assistant while at Kingsborough Community College. This prior experience will support our goal for a healthy and clean campus environment.

Lateef Jimoh comes to York from the CUNY Finance Office and has extensive experience in accounting, finance and auditing having served in roles such as Senior Auditor, Accounting Manager and Finance Controller. He will use his expertise to support a very demanding Business Office meet the goals and objectives of the department.

The Employee of the Month Committee is honored to announce Wenying Huang-Stolte as the November recipient of this award! Wenying received several nominations in support of the excellent service she provides to faculty in support of educational technology and tools. Some excerpts from the various nominations include:

• Wenying is in a category by herself. Her ability to advise faculty on educational technology and design solutions makes her a critical member of the York College instructional staff. She imagines solutions to fix our problems.
• Wenying is so knowledgeable about every aspect of educational technology. She is able to explain things clearly and simply, and stays with you until the problem is resolved. She has always been my go-to person. When we transitioned to online suddenly in March 2020, Wenying literally made that process smooth in the midst of chaos. She is an incredible resource.
• Developing a meaningful learning experience requires different kinds of input. Wenying offers both the imagination and expertise for how to 'bend' the technology to meet our desires.
• I don't think I can stress enough how important it is to have people like Wenying, people who know what they are doing and can share their knowledge and expertise with others. She knows the programs we use intimately and develops different ways to teach them to us. We are not just lucky to have 'someone like' Wenying, but to have Wenying with us. From the very first days at the college 17 years ago, she has shown me how things work and created ways to make the system do what I wanted for my classes. She is a treasure for the college.
• Wenying goes the extra mile, always. She responds promptly (even after hours). She has infinite patience to explain, and never makes anyone feel "stupid" (even when the question or mistake was incredibly stupid!)
• The best examples of Wenying's leadership ae the way she has made the various educational technology transitions smooth and seamless. When the college first introduced online courses, Wenying designed training materials and workshops to support faculty through the transition. In March 2020, her guidance helped keep classes running. When we transitioned to Brightspace from Blackboard this past summer, Wenying provided training materials, workshops and ongoing support.

I encourage you to explore the many topics and videos provided by this resource. Faculty can use the content for classroom learning and discussion with students.
