Dear York College Community,

We are still seeking volunteers to join the Middle States Self-Study Working Groups and play a vital role in shaping the future of York College. The Self-Study process is an integral part of the accreditation process, and offers an opportunity for us to reflect on our institution, celebrate our strengths, and identify areas for growth as part of our commitment to excellence. Each Working Group will be identifying and analyzing evidence of our strengths and challenges with respect to one of the Middle States Standards for Accreditation. These are:

I.       Mission and Goals

II.      Ethics and Integrity

III.    Design and Delivery of the Student Learning Experience

IV.    Support of the Student Experience

V.     Educational Effectiveness Assessment (full)

VI.    Planning, Resources, and Institutional Improvement

VII.  Governance, Leadership, and Administration

Each Working group will be led be two members of the Steering Committee (a full-time faculty member and an administrator), and will include eight to ten people, a mix of faculty, staff, and students. Working Groups will meet once or twice a month, (depending on where we are in the process) and will identify, gather, evaluate, and summarize the evidence (hard data, policies, processes, etc.) for each criteria that applies to that particular Standard.

Anyone wishing to volunteer for a Working Group should e-mail Lori Hoeffner by December 11, 2024.

Please be sure to check-out the new webpage dedicated to the Self-Study process. Thank you for taking the time to learn about this important undertaking.

We look forward to hearing from you.
