The University and York College are aware that Governor Hochul signed an executive order — https://www.governor.ny.gov/sites/default/files/2025-02/EO_47.pdf — declaring a disaster emergency in the state of New York and ordering the National Guard into active duty to support authorities in guaranteeing the safe operations of correctional facilities across New York State due to a strike by corrections officers.
If you are affected by this deployment, we will work with you to arrange a military leave of absence. If you are called to National Guard deployment, please contact me immediately so that our office can arrange a military leave of absence.
