York College is pleased to announce the following new roles! 

Lydie Kengne has years of experience serving students including roles in student success for underrepresented students, academic program manager and enrollment. She will transition these skills to support the goals of the Queens EOC Enrollment unit.

Shahnaz Moin has recently transferred from John Jay College. Her years of campus security experience will support the mission of Campus Safety.

Tahrel Swinton and Beverly Simpson have both recently transferred from Lehman College. Their custodial experience will contribute to a healthy campus environment.

Avery Brandon has supported students in previous roles as a SUNY academic counselor, academic advisor as well as a York adjunct facilitating the first-year and second-year seminar. He will support the objectives of the SEEK department to further student success.

Angel Velez has a wealth of experience in mechanical engineering, electrical systems, HVAC systems and OSHA requirements. His previous experience will contribute to a well-functioning B&G unit.

Lester Finley has supported student services in previous roles in registrar and admissions at the New York Film Academy. These skills will support the goals of the Registrar office.

Subrata Shaha has joined the CUNY Campus Safety Academy. We anticipate her joining the York Campus to support a safe and secure campus.

Cyber Security Awareness and Training

As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting York College’s digital infrastructure and safeguarding the sensitive data of our students, faculty, and staff, we are recommending the Cybersecurity Training Program for all employees.

While many members of our community have already completed the training, we are asking for your support in encouraging any remaining staff and faculty within your departments to complete this important training as soon as possible.

This training is essential for:

• Increasing cybersecurity awareness
• Minimizing potential risks
• Ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards

Your leadership and assistance in this matter are greatly appreciated. By working together, we can ensure a safer and more secure digital environment for everyone at York College.
