• Make your course available to students or, to use Brightspace's terminology, make the course active.
• Ensure items in your course are set to visible (not Hidden) as needed.  
• Send a welcome message to students using the Brightspace Announcements tool. 

1. Post an announcement asking students to set their York email as their preferred email in their CUNYfirst (CF) account. Attached is a tutorial on how to change preferred email in CUNYfirst. 

 

For technical support with Brightspace:  

• Self-enroll in our Faculty Be Ready and Certified for Brightspace course and learn by doing at your own pace.
• Browse our Brightspace for Faculty site to find tutorials. 
• Access our Live LMS Support Room from the CTLET link on My Courses > Organizations tab in your Brightspace home page. The hours are: Mondays - Thursdays 9 AM - 5 PM, Fridays by appointment via email lmshelp@PROTECTED.
