Introduction to CUNY Work

CUNYWork is a university-wide initiative to implement Workday, a modern, cloud-based system that will replace CUNY’s outdated HR and finance platforms. Launching in January 2027, CUNYWork will unify core business processes into one integrated platform. This transformation will reduce reliance on more than 200 manual and shadow systems, unlocking faster processes, real-time data, improved collaboration, and a more intuitive experience for all employees.

But CUNYWork is more than a system upgrade, it is a collaborative effort to design a solution tailored specifically for CUNY. While Workday provides the foundation, the final system will reflect the unique needs of our campuses, shaped by the insights and expertise of our people. This initiative brings together hundreds of team members from across the university and trusted partners to build a system that simplifies processes, strengthens security, and supports the future of higher education at CUNY.

Want to Learn More About Workday?

Workday was selected through a collaborative process involving stakeholders across CUNY. The solution was chosen for its ability to meet the unique needs of CUNY’s campuses and Central Office while supporting our mission of access, inclusion, and excellence.

To help you begin exploring what’s ahead, we are including introductory videos that provide broader context for this transformation:
