Isabelle Hubert has been selected as the March 2026 Employee of the Month! Isabelle has been working at York College for over 20 years.  She started as a Part Time employee and is currently serving as an Academic Program Specialist.

Highlights from her nomination from Dr. Selena Rodgers include:

• Isabelle’s strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to service is evident in the compassionate and scholar-centered care she provides, always going‚ above and beyond to ensure scholars feel heard, supported, and empowered.
• She works tirelessly to demonstrate integrity in her ethical decision-making and professionalism, and she upholds the dignity and worth of [every] person she encounters, treating colleagues and scholars alike with respect and empathy.
• Isabelle is a strong advocate and defender of social justice; thoughtfully working to promote equity in her daily practice. She understands and models the importance of human relationships, building meaningful, trusting connections with scholars and colleagues. Additionally, her competence is evident in her reliability and her strong passion for ongoing professional growth.
• She mentors scholars through their most difficult moments, advocates fiercely on their behalf, and consistently models the values of social work. As a trusted resource for scholars, Miss Isabelle equips scholars with information that they require regarding scholarships, offers words of advice to maintain their focus throughout the program, and listens with a supportive ear.

Codeen Klass has been selected as the April 2026 Employee of the Month! Codeen has been working at York College for over six years.  She currently serves as a Financial Aid Specialist.

Highlights from her nomination from Cheryl Morrison include:

·         As York College’s Pell Specialist, Codeen plays a critical role in ensuring that eligible students receive their federal Pell Grant awards accurately and in a timely manner. The Pell Grant is one of the most important financial aid resources for our student population, many of whom rely on it to cover tuition, books, and essential living expenses. Her work directly impacts student enrollment, retention, and academic persistence.

• She works diligently to safeguard institutional integrity while advocating for students. Her attention to detail, accuracy in processing, and commitment to timeliness ensure that Pell recipients receive the funding they depend on to continue their education.

·         Her work supports not only departmental goals of compliance and efficiency but also the broader campus mission of access, equity, and student success. Codeen’s innovative thinking was instrumental in developing and leading Financial Aid Awareness Day‚ a creative outreach effort designed to proactively educate students and the community about available financial aid opportunities, including Pell Grants.

• She understands that financial aid can be overwhelming, and she takes the time to explain processes clearly and compassionately. Students often leave interactions with her feeling informed, reassured, and supported. As a result of the intentional outreach efforts she has helped lead, student satisfaction and reviews of Student Financial Services have significantly improved.
