In 2011, the 15 years ago was a year where the world was simultaneously celebrating and grieving. In the U.S., NASA completed its final space shuttle mission, ending the US Space Shuttle Program after 30 years. Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, passed away. And the Occupy Wallstreet movement began in New York City. In London, the internationally broadcasted Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton became one of the most watched events in modern history.
