We are delighted to introduce Josue Thelusma as the new director of the Student Health Services Center at York. Josue's wealth of experience in healthcare management and public health is matched only by his strong commitment to enhancing student well-being and academic success.
Josue, a proud Cardinal and York College alum, holds a master's of Exercise Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Long Island University, Brooklyn, and a bachelor's in Kinesiology from CUNY/York College. His proven track record in healthcare administration, including managing central office operations and administrative staff at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, is a testament to his capabilities.
Josue’s previous experience also includes serving as the deputy director of the Workforce Program and Health & Fitness Specialist at the Southern Queens Park Association. There, he led recruitment, training, and performance evaluation for staff and coordinated placements for over 500 Summer Youth Employment participants.
Josue’s expertise in multidisciplinary collaboration, strategic communications, and program improvement will be instrumental in advancing the mission of the Student Health Services Center. Aligned with York College’s commitment to reducing health-related barriers to educational achievement, Josue will work tirelessly to enhance existing policies, programs, and services. His dedication to fostering a culture of health and supporting students' holistic development aligns perfectly with our institution's goals.
