Milestone Years of Service - 45 Years

May 6th 2026 11:55a.m. EDT

45 years ago, people lived through the world wind of a year that was 1981. On January 20th, Ronald Reagan was inaugurated as the 40th President of the United States of America. In March, both President Reagan and Pope John Paul II survived assassination attempts 3 weeks apart from each other. Then in July, in the wedding that captivated the world, Prince Charles married Lady Diana at St. Paul’s Cathedral in front of 3,500 guests and 750 million live viewers. MTV premiered on TV on August 1. On August 12, IBM’s fir ...Continue Reading

Milestone Years of Service - 40 Years

May 6th 2026 11:45a.m. EDT

It's hard to believe that 1986 was 4 decades ago. It was a year where optimism met harsh reality when tragedy unfolded both in the skies and on the ground. People around the world watched as the Challenger Space Shuttle Disintegrated 73 seconds after liftoff, killing all 7 crew members on board. Just 3 months later, a Soviet Union Nuclear Reactor exploded in Chernobyl causing major environmental catastrophe. But the human spirit proved to be unshakable when roughly 5 to 6.5 million people attempted to form the lar ...Continue Reading
