The College Community:
Mayor Adams has issued a travel advisory for Tuesday night, when heavy rain and wind gusts up to 60 mph are expected to hit the city. The region is mobilizing for a wet, blustery Tuesday into Wednesday as 2 to 4 inches of rain along with heavy winds descend upon it, potentially causing flooding, blowing debris, coastal flooding, and widespread power outages.
Due to the forecast of inclement weather, please take the following steps to ensure safety and protect our facilities before leaving today:
- Securely close all windows.
- Power down computers and equipment to prevent damage.
Report any safety issues or hazardous conditions(e.g., leaks, slippery surfaces, loss of heat/AC, broken windows, power outages, or flooding) to Public Safety at 718-262-2222 (or dial 2222 from campus phones).
For emergency alerts or college closings, please refer to the York College website and enroll in
CUNY Alerts.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
