Dear York College Faculty and Staff,
As we start the Fall 2024 semester, it is essential that we continue to provide our students with the necessary support and resources to help them navigate challenges. In the event of an emergency or if you encounter students in crisis, please reach out to
Public Safety at 718-262-2222 and the
Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at 718-262-2331 for immediate response and assessment of the situation. We work in consultation with Health Services, the Center for Students with Disabilities, Public Safety, and our Counseling Center to ensure a coordinated response.
Our
Counseling Center offers a range of services, including in-person and virtual individual counseling and workshops, all designed to help students manage their mental health and well-being. The center's professional staff is experienced in providing guidance and support for a variety of concerns, from academic stress to personal challenges. For your convenience, we have also created a two-page
Quick Refence Guide on Assisting Students in Distress.
With these resources, we are confident that we have created a strong support system to help our students navigate challenges. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of our students and contribute to their overall well-being.
Thank you for your dedication to our students' success.
Sincerely,
James Salnave, Ed.D.
Assistant Vice President/Dean of Students
Student Affairs and Enrollment Management
