Dear Instructor, Researcher, Staff, IT Professionals, Admin,
On this Thursday 5th and Friday 6th CTLET will be closed. All our staff will be at the John Jay College in Manhattan for the annual CUNY IT Conference. Read on to see how the Conference is also for you--faculty focused on research or on teaching and learning, staff from all offices, and admin.
As of the start of this week, 1,250 faculty, staff and IT professionals hailing from all CUNYs have registered for the 2024 CUNY IT conference. The conference includes 58 presentations around the theme of Advancing CUNY: Intentional Connections and Smart Collaborations: 26 are presented by CUNY faculty, with 17 of those in the track of Collaborating with AI for Teaching&Learning. Other tracks are: Connecting for Operational Optimization and Connections for Improving the Student Experience; each of these 2 tracks feature 16 presentations, all by CUNY staff from every office you have ever or never visited.
Last but not least: Big kudos to York College's presenters: Abu Kamruzzaman (Dept of Business and Economics), Elizabeth Quaye (Dept of Accounting and Finance), Greg Vega (IT) and Eric Tyrer (IT) present YrkGPT; Casandra Silva Sibilin (Dept of History, Philosophy and Anthropoloy) presents Fostering Joyous Collaboration through a CUNY-wide AI Initiative with fellow panelists from 5 different CUNYs; and Rafael Nunez (IT) leads a panel with Yanike Williams (IT) and Nazia Naeem (OIESP) in YAMS: A Collaborative Tool, Bridging Assessment and Technology.
