Dear York College Faculty and Staff, As we approach the culmination of another academic term, we recognize the unique challenges that some of our students face and appreciate your continued dedication to their success. Please be reminded that in the event of an emergency or if you encounter students in crisis, please reach out to Public Safety at 718-262-2222 and the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at 718-262-2331 for immediate response and assessment of the situation. We work in consultation with Health Services, the Center for Students with Disabilities, Public Safety, and our Counseling staff to ensure a coordinated response. Our Counseling Center offers a range of services, including in-person and virtual individual counseling and workshops, all designed to help students manage their mental health and well-being during high-pressure times like final exams. The center's professional staff is experienced in providing guidance and support for a variety of concerns, from academic stress to personal challenges. For your convenience, we have also created a two-page Quick Reference Guide on Assisting Students in Distress. With these resources, we are confident that we have created a strong support system to help our students navigate the challenges they may face during this season. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of our students and contribute to their overall well-being. Thank you for your dedication to our students' success. Happy Holidays! Sincerely, James Salnave, Ed.D. AVP/Dean of Students Student Affairs and Enrollment Management |
