Greetings York College Community,
As we approach the winter season, the York College Public Safety Office would like to remind all members of our campus community to take necessary precautions to safeguard offices and workspaces during periods of inclement weather. Please review and follow the steps below to help prevent weather-related damage:
Close All Windows: Ensure all windows in offices, classrooms, and shared spaces are securely closed before leaving for the day.
Power Down Electronics: Turn off computers, monitors, printers, and other electronic devices to minimize the risk of damage during potential power surges or outages.
Protect Sensitive Items: Move any paper documents, personal belongings, or equipment away from windows or areas prone to leaks.
Report Any Issues: Immediately report any leaks, water intrusion, or other weather-related concerns to the Public Safety team by contacting (718) 262-2222 or submitting a maintenance request.
Secure Office Spaces: To protect interiors, ensure blinds or shades are drawn where possible and doors are locked when leaving.
By working together, we can minimize the impact of inclement weather on campus operations. Your cooperation and vigilance are greatly appreciated.
Please contact the Public Safety Office at 718-262-2222 for any additional concerns or emergency issues.
Thank you for your attention and for helping to keep York College safe and prepared this winter season.
