Dear Colleagues,
I want to take a moment to thank you for your unwavering dedication to enrollment and student success. Your hard work and commitment to making our students feel supported and connected at York College are truly inspiring. I’m deeply grateful for the role you play in guiding them through their educational journeys.
From direct admissions and express enrollment events to earlier advisement messaging, weekly financial aid workshops and bootcamps, expanded department information sessions, robust social media campaigns, first-year retention workshops, and outreach through the York Opportunity Network, your efforts are making a measurable difference. These initiatives have had a profound impact on our registration numbers.
As of December 17, we are ahead of last year’s registration pace, with 2,457 students registered compared to 2,421 this time last year, reflecting a 4.2% increase in continuing student registrations.
Winter 2025 registration is also showing impressive growth, up 10.2% with 754 students registered compared to 661 last year. Continuing student registrations for Winter are up 10.3%. Your energy and dedication have been instrumental in these successes. A special congratulations to SEEK and ACE for surpassing last year’s census numbers so early in the enrollment cycle!
Looking ahead, Fall 2025 admissions are off to a strong start, with the first round of decisions released on December 9. Responses are already coming in, and we’re excited about the upcoming schedule of conversion events. These include a new open house for transfer students, Spring semester orientation events, and a National Commitment Day celebration on May 1. Stay tuned for more details!
I’m also thrilled to share that York is once again a testing site for the CLEP exam, and we’re working to expand our offerings with additional exams pending approval from The College Board. This is a fantastic opportunity for York to support our local community while increasing our visibility among those who may not yet be familiar with our rigorous, high-quality education.
Thank you again for your outstanding contributions to York College’s enrollment priorities. Your hard work is making a real impact, and I’m confident we’ll carry this momentum into the new year. On behalf of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, I wish you and your families a joyous holiday season and a very happy New Year!
Warmly,
Karen
