As part of our continuing commitment to ensuring the security and safety of our institution’s IT systems, we are making an important change to how you can access our IT Incident Tracking System, YConnect.
Previously, the system was accessible both internally and externally. Starting today, external access to the main system will be discontinued due to security concerns. This change reflects our ongoing efforts to strengthen our cybersecurity posture in today’s evolving threat landscape.
What This Means for You
- Internal Access: You can continue to access the YConnect directly from our website while on campus or connected to the internal network from the main menu of the York website under “IT Self Service” after you select either Student Life or Faculty/Staff.
- External Access: Our YConnect quick form, has been created to handle IT incidents, inquiries, and requests. This form is designed to be convenient and easy to use, ensuring that you can report issues or request assistance securely from anywhere.
Why This Change?
Cybersecurity is a top priority, and protecting our systems and data requires continuous adaptation. Limiting external access to the IT Incident Tracking System is a proactive step to mitigate potential risks and safeguard our community. We understand that this adjustment may require a brief period of transition, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
