The Cafeteria upgrade project is progressing, the RFP Request for Proposal is currently in progress, we anticipate to have a Food Service Provider in place the later part of February 2025.
Work has begun in the interior Cafeteria and food serving area, we will know begin to work on the Cafeteria Dining Area.
Effective Monday January 21 through Friday February 20, 2025, the dining area will be off-line to all students, faculty and staff; the temporary closure is necessary to install new flooring, furniture, painting and wall treatments.
We expect the dining area to be reopened for use on Monday February 23, 2025.
Below is a list of key tasks and milestones:
1. CAFETERIA DINING ROOM COMPLETION
a. Remove and store existing chairs and tables – Start/ Finish January 21
b. Receive new flooring material- January 21
c. Install new flooring- start January 21 through February 3rd
d. Install new seating and tables- start February 3 through February 7
2. CAFETERIA KITCHEN & SERVERY COMPLETION
a. Install Ceiling and Lighting- January 9 through January 24th
b. Install New Finishes @ Walls etc.- January 27 through January 24th
c. Install New Flooring- January 27 through January 31st
d. Create new entryway- February 10 through February 14th
3. NEW APPLIANCE INSTALLATION
a. Appliance Survey- Start /finish January 23rd
b. Appliance Fit Test- Due February 3rd
c. Appliance delivery and Installation- February 12th -
d. Walk-In Fridges & Freezer Repair February 14th
Projected soft opening date the week of February 27th predicated approval from the University of the New Food service provider.
