Dear Faculty,
Avoiding end-of-semester grading trouble and frustration is one solid reason you should be setting up your Grade Book in Brightspace and do it now. The most important pedagogical reason to have your Grade Book set up is that students should know at any time in a semester “where they stand.”
To help you with this endeavor: we have created the Setting up the Grade Book tutorial. It is part of our Recommended workflow to build and work in a Brightspace course. Check it out!
We are also offering a couple of repeat-workshops about the Grade Book in the weeks of 1/20 and 1/27.
You will learn to:
· Set up the Grade Book based on the Grading Scheme in your syllabus
· Connect the grades of assignments, quizzes, etc. to the appropriate grading categories in the Brightspace grade book
· Use bonus assignments, quizzes, and allow assigned points to exceed possible points
· Delete and re-order grade columns
