York College is pleased to announce the following new roles!
Safiya Faustin will transition from her student advising role to Scholarship Manager. The Scholarship Manager will be a student-facing role and will be responsible for submissions, website management and marketing of scholarships. The role will work with Institutional Advancement and other campus offices to ensure effective scholarship management in support of student needs and academic success.
Ramena Jailall will transition to Enrollment Registrar Specialist. The role will support transfer students as well as the mission and goals of the Registrar office.

It is my pleasure to announce that Travis Hilton has been selected as the March 2025 Employee of the Month!
Some highlights of his nomination include:
- Travis Hilton has proven to be essential to all functions of the library, ensuring our department has productive relationships with other college departments, such as facilities, the business office, and human resources to name a few. The collegial relationships he has developed over time with York employees in other departments ensures a more copacetic atmosphere for everyone. He is consistently reliable and knowledgeable, and just as importantly he is a joy to work with.
- Travis is on the front lines of customer service at York. He leads by example. He has an easygoing demeanor, but knows when and how to enforce policy and can explain why the policy is in service to students as well as the college community. He hires and trains all college assistants who work at the circulation desk in the library, and thankfully they follow his example when serving students.
- Travis always goes above and beyond. For instance whenever the Chief Librarian needs technical support, or a work order accomplished, he is who she depends on. Actually, all of the librarians find that they can depend on Travis, and they usually will need to seek him out at some point every semester to trouble shoot whatever may arise. His institutional knowledge is unsurpassed and an essential attribute that we have all come to depend on.
- Travis has helped me personally in planning, implementing and updating services for faculty. Examples include placing required texts/readings on reserve for courses, helping me figure out how to make these services available digitally to faculty, so that faculty can make these requests from their office or off-campus without having to physically come to the library and fill out a paper form. I would not be able to update services without his support and vision. He is a seriously an undervalued asset to the library and the college and I can't say enough good things about him.
Thank you Travis for providing exceptional service to the York Campus Community!
Thank you,
R. Carmel Boyle
