Office of Academic Affairs Update April 2025 Dear York College Community, We are excited to share some significant updates regarding our ongoing efforts in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). New Programs Approved We are pleased to announce that the York College Senate has approved the Minor and Certificate Program Applications of AI and Machine Learning offered by the Business and Economics Department. These new programs are designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to effectively use AI and ML in their fields of study.
Upcoming Events - April 8, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Hands-on workshop by the CUNY MS team on "Working with Co-pilot" for faculty and staff. Explore using Co-pilot, the safe & secure generative AI, which comes with our CUNY MS 365 enterprise license. Register online!
- April 21, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.: A conversation for faculty, staff, and students.
- May 20, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 PM: Discussion on "Are our incoming high school students AI literate? Let’s be prepared!" for faculty, staff, and students.
Follow-Up Initiatives As a follow-up to the April 8th presentation and workshop, we will be starting up Communities of Practice for faculty and staff to explore working with Co-pilot. This initiative aims to foster collaboration and enhance our understanding and utilization of AI tools in our academic and administrative processes.
