Provost Announces Interim Leadership Appointments in Academic Affairs Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce the following interim appointments within the Office of Academic Affairs: Dr. Maureen Becker has been named Interim Associate Provost of Academic Affairs. In this role, Dr. Becker will provide strategic leadership and management for academic policies, curriculum development, grant procurement and administration, and retention initiatives. Her responsibilities will include oversight of strategic planning, assessment, quality improvement, and compliance activities, as well as faculty professional development and resource cultivation to support institutional goals. Dr. Becker came to York in 2018 after being the Interim Founding Dean of the School of Health Sciences for three years at the College of Staten Island. Since 2018, she has served as Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Professional Programs, where she demonstrated strong leadership skills in overseeing teaching, research, and service activities, leading accreditation efforts, including the accreditation of our Public Health program. In 2019, she was asked to serve as the Interim Dean of the School of Business and Information Systems, managing school operations, developing and maintaining instructional programs, cultivating key partnerships with industry leaders, and initiating its accreditation process. Dr. Renée Wright has been appointed Interim Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Professional Programs. Prior to arriving at York College, Dr. Wright held several leadership positions, including Director of Patient Care Services, Emergency Department at New York United Hospital in Port Chester, NY., Assistant Nurse Manager and Acting Nurse Manager of Emergency Services at New York Hospital Queens, Flushing, NY. While at York, Dr. Wright previously served as the Chair of the Committee on Academic Policy and Standards. She served four years as the chair of the School of Health Sciences and Professional Programs Student Progression and Retention Committee. Most recently, Dr. Wright has served as Chair of the Department of Nursing. She has demonstrated leadership through comprehensive oversight of the department's academic programs and administration. In 2021, she led a successful reaccreditation of the undergraduate nursing programs. She implements NYSED and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) standards and requirements. Dr. Wright also championed the adoption of Simulation-based Learning and launched the MS in Nursing Education program. Dr. Fenio Annansingh-Jamieson has been appointed Interim Dean of the School of Business and Information Systems. Dr. Annansingh-Jamieson most recently served as Chair of the Department of Business and Economics, where she led curriculum development, including the creation of a new BS in Human Resource Management, a minor in Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and an MHA in Healthcare Administration. She has fostered securing over $2.6 million in external and internal funding from organizations such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), GenCyber, the National Security Agency (NSA), and the N.Y. State Department of Education. They will begin their new roles this summer.
