Wear Denim for Denim Day For over two decades, Peace Over Violence has led Denim Day, a campaign focused on action, unity, and awareness. Held every April during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Denim Day invites people to stand with survivors, question harmful beliefs, and work toward ending sexual violence.
The campaign began after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction, stating that the victim’s jeans suggested consent. In response, members of the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work, showing support for the victim and rejecting the court's logic.
This act sparked a movement. Denim Day now brings together people around the world. On this day, wearing jeans becomes a public statement—a way to reject myths about sexual violence and support those affected. Wear denim! Join the movement to prevent sexual assault.
