CUNYID Password Change Required
Dear York College Community,
As a reminder of the urgency of the below message which we have sent to all students faculty and students, please be aware that if your password is not reset, you may be confronted with your challenge questions when you attempt to reset at a later date, if you do not remember those answers it is best to immediately reset your CUNYFirst password now otherwise you may be asked to authenticate your identity in person or via a Teams connection when you do attempt to change at a later date.
We realize with finals and grades in the mix; this is the worst time for this but unfortunately, we have no control over this event and its critical that we act now.
We have been made aware that CUNY has experienced a cybersecurity incident. The University is conducting an investigation, and at this time there is no indication of impact to any of the CUNY systems. Updates will be provided as needed.
Out of an abundance of caution, we ask that all students, faculty, and staff change their CUNYID passwords as soon as possible. To do so, please follow the instructions found here:
Change My CUNY Login Password.
To ensure the safety and security of all York College and CUNY online systems and offerings, we ask that you complete Cybersecurity AwarenessTraining no later than May 30.
Faculty and staff can complete the training by logging into
Blackboard using your updated CUNY credentials. Your assigned compliance courses are in the Organizations tab in the sidebar.
Students can complete the training by logging into
Brightspace. Cybersecurity training will be listed on your personal homepage under “My Courses.” If you need assistance accessing either a Blackboard or Brightspace account, please contact the
York College ServiceDesk , 718-262-5311.
We appreciate your cooperation as we all work to keep York College and CUNY cybersafe.
Sincerely,
Greg Vega, Interim Assistant Vice President and Chief Information Officer
