Dear Faculty, Staff, and Administrative Colleagues,
As part of a system-wide security enhancement initiative mandated by CUNY Central, we are implementing a change in how remote access to college-managed computers is permitted.
Effective July 21st, 2025, the only acceptable means of remote access will be:
A connection via VPN (Virtual Private Network), secured with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) followed by either:
All other Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools—including third-party applications or browser-based solutions—will be blocked from accessing college systems. These changes are necessary to maintain compliance with CUNY-wide cybersecurity policies and to ensure a consistent, secure approach to remote connectivity.
We understand this update may require adjustments to your workflows, and our IT support team is available to assist with transitioning to supported tools and answering any questions you may have.
Please reach out York College ServiceDesk

Thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping our digital environment secure.
Sincerely,
