
York HR is proud to present the Employee of the Month initiative commencing in Academic Year 2026. Each month, York College will acknowledge an exceptional York employee for the work they do to further the mission and goals of the campus.
The York Community with have the opportunity to nominate their peers and colleagues for this prestigious honor. Each semester, York HR will send a communication to the campus soliciting nominations for the Employee of the Month.
Employees should complete a detailed nomination form based on the following:
Program Criteria
- Job Performance – Please describe the exceptional job performance of the nominated employee. What does the employee do in support of their departmental goals and objectives to be nominated for Employee of the Month? Describe the impact of their work in their department or on the campus community.
- Customer Service - Please describe the exceptional Customer Service the employee provides to the York Community and/or perspective students.
- Teamwork - Please describe how the employee exhibits excellent teamwork.
- Leadership - Please describe how the employee displays Leadership skills in their day to day work. If the employee is not in a Leadership role, please provide examples of how they lead by example.
- Creativity & Innovation - Please describe any creative contributions the employee has initiated, implemented or has played a significant part in.
Program Guidelines
- Full-time and part-time employees are eligible to be nominated for Employee of the Month including:
- Non-instructional HEO series
- Civil Service, Classified Managerial
- College Assistants, part-time hourly employees, part-time administrative NTAs
- Research Foundation (RF) employees
- Self-nominations are not permitted
- ECP (Executive Director, Dean, AVP, VP, etc.) and faculty/teaching adjunct titles are not eligible; faculty NTA are not eligible
- Committee members reviewing nominations are prohibited from nominating employees while they serve on the committee. Committee members also cannot be nominated for this award while they serve on the committee. Committee members are meant to be neutral and unbiased.
- Employees cannot not be chosen more than once in an academic year to win this award.
Nomination Review Committee
We encourage employees to provide as much information and details in support of their nomination. The Committee will be reviewing and scoring each nomination submission and highly rated employee nomination forms will be considered for the honor of Employee of the Month.
