Dear York College Faculty,
As the Provost indicated in his email to the York College community earlier this month, the College will engage in an academic master planning process (AMP). This process will focus on academic programs, particularly in the context of our emerging Strategic Plan, departmental and program goals, and trends in employment, enrollment, and higher education practice. The goal of this academic planning effort is to ensure that the programs York offers are well-aligned with educational and employment opportunities for our students. The resulting academic master plan will represent our programmatic academic priorities and will help guide academic decision-making for a period of five years.
The Academic Master Planning Committee will be meeting at least once a month, perhaps twice if needed, for no more than two hours at a time to review data, provide input, and contribute to the overall formation of the plan. There will be multiple opportunities throughout this process for community input and feedback from all stakeholder groups. We anticipate that this process will conclude in Fall 2026.
Anyone wishing to volunteer for the Strategic Planning Committee should email Tim Paglione by October 31, 2025. In addition, some individuals, by virtue of their role at the College, will be invited to participate. We endeavor to build a well-rounded and representative committee.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
