Dear York College Community,
As we begin the new year, I want to take a moment to reflect on what was a highly productive and impactful 2025 for Information Technology at York College.
Over the past year, York IT delivered significant improvements that supported our students, faculty, and staff—while maintaining uninterrupted operations and navigating major University-wide initiatives.
From infrastructure modernization and cybersecurity enhancements to AI innovation, system upgrades, and student service improvements, 2025 marked an important chapter of progress for our campus .
While we are proud of what was accomplished, our focus now turns to 2026. There is still important work ahead, and we remain fully committed to it.
In the coming year, York IT will:
Expand opportunities for student engagement with AI, including YorkGPT, Adobe Express, Microsoft Copilot, and other emerging University-supported tools, look out for announcements on these in the coming weeks
Schedule more AI workshops for leadership, students, faculty and staff
Continue technology refresh efforts across computers, copiers, and Wi-Fi infrastructure (Ongoing, new computers continue to be delivered)
Prepare for student email and collaboration enhancements, LinkedIn Learning access for the University, Adobe Express for all CUNY students, and an improved CUNY login experience
Roll out training for student support departments on the upgraded QLess Tempo, significantly improving how student services are delivered campus-wide including new reporting and assessment metrics (January 2026)
Work with the Events Office to continue to improve the CourseDog integration into our rental and events management.
Harden waste management and IT asset security protocols for deposal processing and accounting
Maximize assessment efforts and work closer with all departments as we head towards Middle States Accreditation
Improve on cybersecurity mitigation efforts and reporting
As always, our success depends on collaboration across the campus. We are energized, motivated, and excited to continue working together to improve the student experience and support York’s academic mission.
A detailed review of our 2025 accomplishments is available on our website, and I encourage you to explore it. Thank you for your continued partnership as we move forward into another year of progress.
Wishing you a healthy, successful, and inspiring 2026.
