As of this update, the outage remains unresolved and continues to impact voice calls, text messaging, and mobile data for many Verizon users. Some devices may still display “SOS” or “Emergency Only” mode. Verizon has confirmed the issue and reports that their engineers are actively working to restore full service, but no estimated time of resolution has been provided.
Current guidance:
- Continue to use Wi-Fi–based communication tools (Teams, Zoom, email, Wi-Fi calling) whenever possible.
- Use non-Verizon phones or landlines for time-sensitive or critical communications.
- Emergency calling (911) should remain available even if phones show SOS mode.
