As we navigate the demands of daily life, we know that balancing academics, work, and personal life can sometimes bring unexpected challenges. I'm writing to remind you that York College is committed to your success, and there are numerous resources available to support you.
Whether you are seeking academic guidance, emotional support, or personal wellness resources, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these essential services:
* Counseling Center: Provides free, confidential counseling (in person and virtually) to help you overcome personal or academic obstacles.
* Student Health Services: Offers health-related support to ensure you stay well and focused on your goals.
* The Women’s Center for Gender Justice & The Men’s Center: Dedicated spaces for growth, development, and specialized support services are available on and off campus, including food, housing, transportation assistance, and financial literacy education.
* Center for Students with Disabilities: Ensures an inclusive campus experience through reasonable accommodations and advocacy.
* Food Pantry (Hungry for Knowledge): Available to all members of the CUNY community facing food insecurity.
Important Update:
Meditation Room Relocation
We also want to share an update regarding our campus quiet spaces. To better accommodate student needs, the meditation rooms have been relocated. Beginning Thursday, March 5, the new locations will be:
* Men’s Meditation Room: Academic Core Building, Room 3E05
* Temporary Women’s Meditation Room: Academic Core Building, Room 1F01
We encourage you to use these spaces for prayer, reflection, or a quiet moment of mindfulness during your busy day.
Your well-being is our priority. If you are feeling overwhelmed, please reach out to any of the offices above or visit the Student Affairs office in AC-2F01A. We are here to help you thrive.
Sincerely,
Karen A. Williams
