The York College Art History Program invites submissions for a juried film selection in the inaugural Southeast Queens Film Festival, taking place April 15–17 in Jamaica, Queens. The festival is organized as part of the Social Practice CUNY initiative, Jamaica Forum for Public Art Otherwise! This festival celebrates the wide range of moving image works that shape our everyday visual culture. We welcome submissions across formats and styles, including: All lengths and formats are accepted. (Note: analog formats must be digitized for submission.) Submission Deadline: March 13We encourage you to submit your work before the deadline—we’re excited to see what you create! The open call is coordinated by the community organization Southeast Queens Center for History and Culture (SQCHC). Submissions must meet one of the following criteria: York College faculty and students qualify through their connection to York College in Jamaica, Queens. SQCHC hopes to screen as many submissions as possible. Selected works will be presented in the Main Lecture Hall at York College (CUNY) on April 15. The Open Call ForOpen Call Formm, created and managed by SQCHC, includes six sections and typically takes up to 30 minutes to complete. To make the process easier, you may want to prepare your responses in a separate document before starting the form.
