On Tuesday, July 21, beginning at 10:00 a.m., Information Technology will migrate the College’s telephone service from the existing PRI system to a modern SIP-based platform.
This upgrade is the result of ongoing work by York College IT, CUNY Central Office, and our telecommunications service providers to address the intermittent telephone service issues experienced in recent weeks. The new SIP-based platform will provide a more reliable and flexible telephone service while reducing the College’s dependence on aging, dedicated telephone circuits.
During the migration, users may experience temporary interruptions to incoming and outgoing off-campus calls. Internal calls within the campus will not be affected.
IT staff and our service providers will actively monitor the transition and work to restore full telephone service as quickly as possible.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while we have worked with our vendors to implement this long-term solution.
We apologize for any inconvenience during the scheduled transition.
