Whether you’re returning to York College or joining us for the first time, welcome to the new semester! The Information Technology Department is here to help you get connected, access the resources you need, and start the semester successfully. The beginning of the semester is one of our busiest times. Knowing where to go and how to request assistance can help you get support faster. |
START HERE: Where should I go? ➜ Student services: Welcome Center, Guy R. Brewer entrance — immediately to the left. ➜ Account, email, password or MFA help: Student Government Lab, AC-3G01 — one escalator level above the Welcome Center. ➜ Not on campus: Use YConnect or email the Help Desk. |

YOUR SEMESTER START GUIDE |
Key Resources You Should Know |
1 | Welcome Center Your starting point for student services Located at the Guy R. Brewer Boulevard entrance of the Academic Core Building, immediately to the left when you enter. The Welcome Center is your primary starting point for services such as Financial Aid, Registrar, Bursar, Health Services and technology support. Additional support personnel will be available during the opening weeks of the semester. |
|
2 | QLess Sign In. Move Freely. Get Updates. Be Served. QLess is York’s front-door virtual queuing system. It helps you access services without standing in a traditional line. 1. | Use a QLess kiosk. | 2. | Enter your contact information. | 3. | Select the reason for your visit. | 4. | You’re placed into a virtual queue. |
Your place is managed electronically, so you can find a seat around the Atrium, visit the Cardinal Café or cafeteria, or take care of something nearby while you wait. You’ll receive notifications as your turn approaches. |
|
3 | Account Activation, Email, Password & MFA Help Student Government Lab • by the library entrance on the third level of the Academic Core Building If you need help activating your York College account, accessing your new student email, claiming your network account, resetting your password or setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), visit the third level of the Academic Core near the Library entrance. From the Welcome Center: take the escalator up one level and continue toward the Library entrance. Use the QLess kiosk to sign in when you arrive. This location is for students, faculty and staff who need this type of account support. Visit the triage desk setup right in the front of the Student Government lab entrance. BEFORE YOU COME TO CAMPUS: Whenever possible, complete account activation and MFA setup before your first day of classes. Returning students, faculty and staff should also check whether their password has expired. In many cases, a CUNY Login password can be reset directly from the login screen. |

You can also email helpdesk@PROTECTED. Urgent help during peak periods? If you are on campus, visiting the appropriate support location and signing in through QLess may be the fastest option. |

FACULTY QUICK ALERT | Smart Classroom Support During an Active Class Faculty are strongly encouraged to arrive early enough to check classroom technology before the scheduled start of class. If you experience a technology problem during an active teaching session, call the dedicated classroom support hotline: 718-262-5303 This line is monitored specifically for active classroom teaching emergencies so IT can prioritize an immediate response.
